Cloud Services & Migration
The right cloud, run right.
Not everything belongs in the cloud, and nothing belongs there unmanaged. Corewell Technology helps Los Angeles businesses decide which servers and applications to move to Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or a private cloud, migrates them without disruption, secures and monitors them, and keeps the monthly bill from growing on its own. We also run the hybrid environments where a server room and a cloud subscription have to work together.
- Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and private cloud
- Migration plans with downtime measured in minutes
- Monthly cost reviews and right-sizing
- Cloud servers secured and monitored like on-premises
What cloud services include
A cloud readiness assessment that inventories servers and applications and recommends, for each, whether to move it, replace it with a software-as-a-service product, or keep it on premises. Migration of servers, file shares, databases, and applications to Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, or to a private cloud when compliance or performance requires it. Virtual desktops with Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365 for remote and contract staff. Identity integration, network design, backup, and security for the cloud environment. And monthly management: patching, monitoring, cost review, and right-sizing.
Why cloud projects go wrong, and how to avoid it
Lift-and-shift migrations that copy an oversized server into the cloud produce a bill three times the old hardware cost. Cloud accounts set up by a developer in an afternoon have no backups, public storage, and a single administrator password. Hybrid environments built without a network design produce slow applications and confused users. Each of these is avoidable with an assessment up front, a design that uses the platform as intended, and a management plan that treats cloud servers as seriously as the ones in the closet.
How Corewell migrates
We map every dependency before moving anything, so the application that quietly talks to the old accounting server is discovered in planning rather than at cutover. Migrations run in waves, starting with the systems that are easiest and least critical, with rollback plans for each. Cutovers are scheduled off hours and rehearsed. After each wave we verify performance, confirm backups, lock down access, and review the first month's bill against the estimate. Once complete, the environment is documented and monitored alongside the rest of your IT.
Controlling cost
Cloud spend grows through forgotten test servers, oversized instances, unattached storage, and data moving out of the platform. We tag every resource to an owner and purpose, review the bill monthly, resize or shut down what is not earning its keep, and buy reserved capacity where usage is steady. Clients routinely see 20 to 40 percent reductions in the first quarter of management, with the savings reported alongside the technical work.

Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 for secure access from any device.
Security and identity
Cloud accounts governed by MFA, least privilege, logging, and encryption.
Cost management
Tagging, monthly reviews, right-sizing, and reserved capacity where it pays.
Hybrid operations
Office servers and cloud subscriptions managed as one environment.
Questions
Common questions
Should we move everything to the cloud?
Rarely. Email, files, and collaboration almost always belong there. Line-of-business applications depend on the vendor and the data volume. Workloads with heavy local traffic, specialized hardware, or strict data residency often stay on premises. The assessment answers the question per system rather than in general.
Which cloud do you recommend?
For most Microsoft-centric businesses, Azure integrates most naturally with Microsoft 365 identity. AWS and Google Cloud are strong choices for specific applications and for companies already invested in them. We work in all three and recommend based on your applications, staff, and cost, not on a partnership.
What happens to our server room after migration?
Usually it shrinks to a network closet: firewall, switches, wireless, and perhaps a local backup appliance or a domain controller. The space, power, and cooling costs go away, and the hardware refresh cycle stops.
