How managed IT is priced in Los Angeles
Most providers price per user per month, sometimes per device, occasionally as a flat monthly figure for the whole company. In the Los Angeles market, fully managed service that genuinely includes 24/7 support, monitoring, a modern security stack, and tested backups typically falls between $125 and $250 per user per month. Below roughly $100 per user, something is usually missing: security is an add-on, support has hourly limits, or the help desk is outsourced overseas.
The per-user figure moves with four things. Headcount, because fixed costs spread over more people. Servers and locations, because each adds monitoring, backup, and network work. Compliance, because HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, and PCI add controls, documentation, and evidence collection. And the engagement model, because co-managed clients with internal staff hand us a narrower scope.

Questions to ask any provider
- Is support unlimited, or are there hourly caps and per-ticket charges?
- Is EDR, 24/7 monitoring, MFA, and awareness training included or extra?
- When was the last time a backup was actually restored, and how long did it take?
- What are the written response times, and are they reported monthly?
- Who answers the phone at 2:00 AM, and where are they?
- Are onboarding, offboarding, and license fees spelled out?
Questions
About pricing
Is the estimator a quote?
No. It is a budgeting range built from how Corewell prices fully managed and co-managed IT in Los Angeles. A free assessment, which inventories your actual environment, produces an exact flat-fee proposal, usually within two weeks.
Why is per-user pricing better than hourly?
Hourly billing pays the provider more when your systems fail more. A flat per-user fee pays the provider the same whether you call once or fifty times, so the provider is rewarded for preventing problems. It is also the only model that lets you budget.
What is not included in the monthly fee?
Hardware, third-party software licenses such as Microsoft 365 unless bundled, internet and phone carrier charges, and one-time projects such as office moves, migrations, and new-location build-outs. Each is quoted in advance at a fixed price.
Is there a contract term?
Managed agreements are typically twelve months, which covers the onboarding investment, and renew annually. Pricing is fixed for the term, with headcount adjusted monthly as people join and leave.
Can we start with one service?
Yes. Cybersecurity, backup, Microsoft 365, compliance, phone systems, and vCIO services are each available on their own, and many clients begin there before moving to a fully managed agreement.
